Our concentration of  90 artists at the Hot Shops has forged a truly unique arts organization, and the work they do enhances the vibrant arts community in Greater Omaha. Check out the impact some of our resident artists have been making recently!

Nebraska Biennial

Lori Elliott-Bartle, Josephine Langbehn, Shawnequa Linder, Paula Wallace and Brian Wetjen were part of 100 Nebraska artists selected for Gallery 1516’s Nebraska Biennial. Held every two years, the Biennial is a juried exhibition that brings together a diverse cross-section of Nebraska art with the goal of showcasing the best work by Nebraska artists from across the state.

Think Whole Person Healthcare

Art has long been recognized as a powerful tool for healing. Think Whole Person Healthcare has a rotating art exhibiting that currently features the work of Dani Bonine. The display will be up in the lobby at at 7100 W Center Rd., into October.

The Trevor Project

Rowena Cage, founder and CEO of Queerarchy, has partnered with the Trevor Project, a nonprofit that’s all about suicide prevention for our LGBTQ+ youth. Their first project as partners was a Queerarchy “Love Yourself” fundraiser for National Suicide Prevention Week, September 10th to 16th. More information >

Omaha Public Library

Ilaamen Pelshaw and Lori Elliott-Bartle have work that was purchased by the City of Omaha for display at the Omaha Public Library downtown branch. There will be a public celebration coming soon this October.
