Discharge Dyeing

Discharge Dying is the removal of dye from commercially dyed fabric to get specific looks designed by each participant.

We will use a variety of techniques and chemicals (masks and gloves required for this class) and will design patterns on dark printed backgrounds. The discharged pieces will have new contrasting, artful, prospects for use in a small wall piece, framing or mixed media. You will create 1-4, 8×8 finished pieces.

Bring your own N95 mask. Gloves are provided.

All other materials supplied.

There will be examples to see and demonstrations, then learn by hands-on play!

Dress to make a mess – remember, we are REMOVING color, clothing can be affected.

Minimum age 16+.

Limit 8 participants.
