Urban Sketching Workshop

This class is a 3-hour overview to give you confidence with water media & pens…. just enough to get you going so you can invent your own style.

Urban Sketching is the latest global craze, combining a little art with a lot of community & friends! The NEW Omaha chapter of Urban Sketching meets monthly in different locations around town. You just show up when you can, no fancy planning, and it’s always free. The style is quick & loose, even celebrating wonky. Urban Sketching brings so much joy and requires no art skills!

We will cover: setting up your on-the-go sketch bag (materials), getting started on a blank page (how you choose what to draw), techniques (pens first or color first), composition (making a cool journal page), easy tricks for architectural perspective, and fun things like adding extra flair with collage elements (or to cover “oops”).

Give yourself a new creative outlet! We guarantee that this is something that you CAN do and feel successful. Get yourself ready to hang out with other sketchers at UrbanSketchersOmaha, where you’ll sit next to new friends and celebrate your progress by sketching regularly……it’s the reason that so many people worldwide are falling in love with the Urban Sketching Movement!

•Bring: any size water media sketchbook or cheap pad of watercolor paper.
•Supplied:  watercolor and a huge variety of pens, watercolor pencils & crayons and different types of water media for you to try.
