Prerequisite: This is an intermediate class and students should have the ability to wedge clay and operate an electric pottery wheel.

4-Week intermediate/advanced class with Rob Johnson.

Creating a teapot that succeeds both aesthetically and functionally is the ultimate test for a potter’s skills and abilities. To succeed as a vessel capable of steeping and pouring tea requires careful consideration of the construction and integration of the constituent parts. Rigorous consideration will be given to the teapot size and shape, spout and handle creation and placement, and several options for straining the tea leaves. For intermediate to advanced wheel throwing students. Students should be able to make lidded jars as well as be able to collar clay into a narrow bottleneck.

• Cancellations made between one week and 24 hours prior to the start of the class are eligible for a 50% refund, minus processing fees.
