Painting with Oils & Cold Wax
February 5, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
$55
Join Lori Elliott-Bartle for a two-hour session exploring color, pattern, design and abstraction — a workshop for creative play! You’ll mix oil paints with cold wax medium, a product gaining popularity for its versatility and range. You’ll learn the tools and techniques and create pieces on archival paper.
All materials and supplies provided.
If you have household items or tools that might make interesting patterns or textures, please bring them along. Pieces of burlap, corrugated cardboard, shelf liner, ribbons, and string can all be pressed into the paint surface. And if you happen to have art supplies such as oil paints in colors you particularly like, or tools such as printmaking brayers or palette knives that you enjoy using, then bring those, too.
Cost is $55 per person. Hot Shops members get $5 off registration.
Most students create 2-4 paintings on paper in a two-hour class.
Class size is limited to 6 participants; we’ll wear masks and maintain safe social distances.
To register, email lorielliott@cox.net (please say “painting workshop” in subject line and if you’re a Hot Shops member, please let me know so I can apply the discount) or complete info form on my web site’s contact page at lorielliottbartle.com. I’ll send you the links to pay me via PayPal or Venmo, or I can send you a Square invoice for card payment.
Deadline: Registration deadline is two days before class meets.
