Intermediate Lampworking: Beadmaking

April 8 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Prerequisite: Basic Beadmaking

In this 3-hour session you will build on the skills you learned in the Basic Beadmaking Class with added decorating skills and color combinations. Learn how to select and operate a torch, dip mandrels, and operate the kiln. Learn how to create twisties, different shapes of beads, color combinations of glass and heat control.

In-person class session is limited to 4 students. You’ll have time to meet new people, ask your instructor questions, and get hands on instruction.

Instructor: Lori Skupa of Parrott Flameworks

Class includes:
• Creation of several soft glass beads
• All glass and use of the in-studio kiln for annealing of all projects
• All tools and studio torches

The class will begin with safety instructions followed by instructor demonstration of projects before students will be able to begin working at their own pace.

After completing the Intermediate Beadmaking session, students will have access to open torch time through the Independent Study program at the Hot Shops. This program provides access to all tools, studio torches and use of the in-studio kiln for annealing. Students must supply their own glass.

Cost: $135
