Creature Creation Station

February 1 - February 28

Free
Cardboard Creatures

There are many amazing creatures living in Lauritzen Gardens during the Fantastical Folklore exhibit. Many of them came to life at the Hot Shops Art Center!

You can make your own fantastical creature, too! Stop at the Hot Shops Art Center’s ‘Creature Creation Station’ to pick up and design your own free cardboard creature. Use objects provided at the Station, or take it home and decorate using found objects, art supplies or things you have at home. Stop in any day, Sunday – Saturday between the hours of 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. to pick up your creature. The Creation Station is located inside the Nicholas Street Gallery.

Then, bring your character along on your next visit to the Lauritzen Gardens or to the Hot Shops and take a picture with your creation on your own fantastical adventure!
• At the Lauritzen Gardens, find the spot where your character might be found.
• At the Hot Shops, bring your character and take a picture in a studio where things are made.

Email a picture of your character to add to the virtual Guest Books at the Hot Shops Art Center and Lauritzen Gardens. Tell us a little story about your character and how you made it.

Thank you for being part of the Fantastical Folklore exhibit!
