Consider the Sandhills with film screening and conversation

Celebrate and consider the Nebraska Sandhills from a variety of perspectives from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2 in the second-floor community studio and in Lori Elliott-Bartle’s space.

“Nebraska Sandhills: Considering Art, Culture and Ecology of the Last Prairie” features a screening of “The Last Prairie,” a documentary by John O’Keefe, professor of theology and journalism at Creighton University. The hosts will exhibit posters that highlight photos and insights gleaned by Mary Ann Vinton, associate professor and director of Creighton’s environmental science programs, and Jay Leighter, associate professor of communication studies and director of sustainability studies at Creighton. Lori Elliott-Bartle will display new collage paintings that feature aspects of the Sandhills as well as the painting of the V|V ranch that is shown in progress in O’Keefe’s film.

Film screening begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by Q&A.
