A Portrait of Medical Humanities

January 7 - January 31

A Portrait of Medical Humanities: Artwork by Creighton University Students

Exhibition made possible by the Richard L. Deming, MD Endowment in Medical Humanities

Cover art: Kara Grossman, “Portrait of Second-Year Creighton PA student Haydar Hasan” Charcoal and conte on toned paper. 25″ x 19″ 2021.

Opening reception, Friday, Jan. 7, 5 – 8 p.m. Masks will be required at the reception.

This exhibition is a collection of works made by Creighton University Studio Art majors and Creighton University School of Medicine students. Many of the works were created in the Art of Examination class taught by Professor Rachel Mindrup for M1 and M2 students while other pieces were done as independent studies with her B.A. in studio art majors + pre-health majors. In both cases, the bridge between art and science and care and compassion for our future physicians and healthcare workers working with patients is central to the theme of the show.
