Amanda Leet
Description
Amanda Leet is a lifestyle photographer based in Omaha, NE who specializes in candid and documentary style family photography. Soulful is an adjective used to describe things that express strong emotion, tenderness. Soulful Sessions with Amanda Elaine tells a story beyond the image. Her eye is drawn to dualities; seemingly opposite things that exist at the same time. Life is BOTH brutal AND beautiful, soulful. Drawing inspiration from the dualities in nature, her photography reveals how our environments shape our identities. She hopes to incite an unapologetic pride in her clients of all of the ways our environments have made us who we are.
Amanda studied photography at The Art Institute of Colorado-Denver and currently contracts at Bergan Mercy Hospital as a newborn photographer. Her experience as a first generation college student and single mother make her an extremely empathetic and adaptable photographer. From her experience as a newborn photographer, Amanda has created a line of swaddles, hats, headbands and props specifically for the Fresh 48 hospital experience. This business idea came organically as she quickly learned that "newborn" sizes are usually way too big for brand new babies.
Amanda brings with her unmatched problem-solving skills that she gained as a veteran educator with 15 years of teaching and instructional coaching experience. She holds a BA in Elementary Ed., an MA in Urban Education, an MA in Literacy, and endorsed in ESL. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She currently teaches as an adjunct instructor at Metropolitan Community College where she serves adult English Language Learners. She is currently developing a series on privilege and resilience.
Amanda hopes to be a living "marigold" to the people in her ripple sphere. African Marigolds are good companion plants because they protect the plants they share soil with from pests. They enrich the soil, creating an environment where it's fellow plants can flourish and thrive.
